A catch-all mailbox is one that gathers all the email messages sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody mistypes it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss messages because the other party has an obsolete email address or has made a typographical error. The drawback of configuring a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving plenty of junk email messages, but this issue can be solved using an anti-spam protection solution. It is also crucial to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound messages to a 3rd-party address.

Catch-all Emails in Web Hosting

In case you have a web hosting plan with us and you would like to activate the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox that you have in the hosting account, it will take literally just a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to accomplish this. A catch-all button is available next to each and every email address that you have created under any domain hosted in your account. You can choose one single address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature right away, so all messages sent to miswritten addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button once again will disable the catch-all feature. If you have activated email forwarding, our system will display a warning notice and you will not be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all functionality can be enabled effortlessly if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with us. All the email addresses that you’ve set up using the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be displayed in the Hepsia Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you’ll find a small-size button handily located right next to each of them. With just a click of the mouse, you can activate or deactivate the catch-all option for any mailbox of your liking provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with the option already enabled and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this feature using the contextual menu that will appear. If any of the prerequisites for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will let you know, but will not replace or disable anything automatically.
